ABOUT THE AUTHOR

John Siniscal

Born and raised in the US Midwest, John joined IBM after graduation and spent a 40+ year career with IBM and its business partners.

Earlier in his career, he spent 25 years working in the fledgling software markets of Asia Pacific. It started in 1968 when IBM sent him to Vietnam to support the US military in their use of IBM computers in the war effort. His journey took him to Singapore, where he co-founded a software and services company, ACS, then to Australia, and eventually to Japan, where he faced the obstacles of selling software in an unforgiving market.

He returned to the US in 1993, and spent the rest of his career managing US and international software operations.

He is now retired and living with his wife in Southern California, where he does occasional consulting engagements and enjoys playing pickleball.

Recently he wrote about his Asian experiences in a memoir titled ‘My Quarter Century in Asia’, which you can learn more about on this website, and hopefully use the links provided to buy a copy of the book.
